@‘ The 1st China-Japan Academic Symposium on Nuclear Fuel Cycle (ASNFC 2011) (Draft Version)
            November 30 - December 3,
            2011
Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China
Conference Scope There is no doubt that nuclear energy plays an important role in long-term energy security and global warming prevention. Although the Fukushima Daiichi accident gives enormous impact on nuclear politics in Japan and around the globe, we believe that nuclear energy is an inevitable choice to ensure energy supply and reduce carbon emission in many counties. On the other hand, to realize a sustainable development of nuclear energy for the future, it is necessary to establish a closed nuclear fuel cycle to save uranium resource and minimize radioactive waste accumulation. ASNFC 2011 will provide an important opportunity for the scientists and students from both China and Japan to exchange scientific information related to nuclear fuel cycle.
Main Topics

- Basic chemistry of actinides and fission products
- Nuclear and radiochemistry related to nuclear fuel cycle
- Advanced reprocessing and separation technologies
- Innovative separation science (Nano-materials, Ionic liquids, etc.)
- Transmutation, isotope production, element creation, resource utilization
- Other relevant subjects
